We are nothing but monkeys,
Highly developed monkeys at that,
But we are monkeys, and that’s a fact.
We may have clothes,
We may like to pose,
But we are still monkeys.
We may have advanced technology and the like,
We may have invented the bike,
But we are still monkeys.
We may have T.V,
We may build up our C.V,
But we are still monkeys.
We may know whit,
But we can’t deny it,
We are still monkeys.
We are bad monkeys,
Monkeys that ruin the world we inhabit
Bit by bit.
We ruin the world for the other monkeys
Because we, humanity,
Have greed and belief of superiority.
How can superiority be present within
Monkeys whose main aim is just to win,
To win and win again?
How can superiority be present within
Those who do nothing but destroy,
Those who take away another monkey’s joy?
How can superiority be present within
The ones who destroy the place in which they live
In order that they outlive?
We try to hold on to life so much that
We often forget excitement,
We often displace enjoyment.
We displace enjoyment in return for cures,
We are becoming bores,
We search for cures instead of happiness,
There is no cure for being sad,
Happiness isn’t an ingredient of the magic bullet,
A cures only purpose is to get you through it.
Happiness has now become less important,
Less important than money,
We don’t care so much about being funny.
Funny isn’t what matters any more,
It’s just ‘do this and do that,’
Happiness is not what we live for.
No,
Money, money is what us monkeys live for,
So we created the word ‘chore.’
Chore, a way of making more,
Is that want us monkeys want?
Money and money galore.
Us monkeys don’t live for better,
We live for more,
We live for us,
We don’t live for them
We see ourselves as a precious gem.
A gem more precious
Than any other,
We no longer care for our fellow brother.
Us monkeys blame our fellow brother for anything,
We blame our fellow brother for everything,
So we decide to get them back.
We seek revenge,
Fight, fight, fight,
All through the day and night.
Maybe our monkey leaders
Have an obsession,
An obsession with destruction.
Our monkey leaders kill,
Maybe they see it as a thrill,
To kill our fellow brother’s civilians.
Civilian, a word us monkeys use
To hide our monkey ancestry,
To assume superiority.
Superiority spawned from judging,
Judging our fellow brothers against ourselves,
Who can afford to put more on the shelves?
Who is the best?
Who is the worst?
Who got more on the chemistry test?
We test, we test each other
So we can judge,
So we can judge our fellow brother.
Our monkey leader wants to beat
Our fellow brother,
And turn our fellow animals into meat.
We turn our fellow animals into meat,
For us to eat.
We try to forget that we are just animals too.
All we do is follow the leader.
‘Do this, do that,
Go into combat’
We follow our monkey leader despite our knowledge
That the leader is corrupt,
We let the leader interrupt.
We cannot admit to being wrong,
We made our monkey leader the leader,
But would we take the blame for the mess that is going on?
The mess made by our monkey leader,
Who just like us civilians will not admit
To being intellectually unfit.
We are not fit
To assume the role of leader,
We just get in the thick of it.
We follow orders like they’re impossible to break,
Orders made by those we hate.
We monkeys don’t think for ourselves, we just take the bait.
We don’t think,
We don’t think about all the possible outcomes
We just act quick and see what succumbs.
Hatred, hatred is a trait of us monkeys.
Not the other monkeys, they don’t hate,
They don’t care if you put on weight.
Vanity is another trait,
We see ourselves as the precious gem,
And love to hate.
What is the point in us monkeys
If all we can do is full of hate?
Surely hate must tempt fate.
That’s just the nature of humanity,
Messing with reality,
In order that we get more.
